Dr. Somesh Vanchilingam
MBBS, MD, DM, FINS
Dr. Somesh Vanchilingam is Senior Consultant Neuro specialist and Stroke Doctor and the architect of the Hospital’s expanding footprint.
He is one of the state’s first and finest interventional neuro specialist known for his excellence and expertise in the Neurointerventional treatment of stroke. He has done more than 500 Angiograms, 50 Aneurysm coilings and performed complex Neurointerventional procedures to treat acute stroke.

He did his MBBS & MD (General Medicine) degree from Rajah Muthiah Medical College, Annamalai University, Tamil Nadu. After that, he did his DM in Neurology from Sri Ramachandra Medical College & Research Institute. He did his fellowship in Interventional Neurology and Stroke from Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, New Delhi. He is highly committed to providing healthcare which can be seen from his various research work and workshops he has conducted.
Dr. V. Karthikeyan
MBBS, DMRD, MD, FRCR/M.MED
Dr. Karthikeyan Vanchilingam DMRD, MD, FRCR is a board-certified Interventional Neuroradiologist known for his expertise in Interventional Radiology and has extensive experience in performing the interventional Radiologic procedure. Dr. Karthikeyan Vanchilingam received his FRCR/ M.MED degree in Diagnostic radiology in May 2013 from Royal College of Radiologists, London, UK and National University of Singapore. He did his Post-doctoral fellowship in interventional Neuro & Vascular radiology in February 2012 from Sri Ramachandra University, Chennai, Tamilnadu, India.
Combining his residency and fellowship in interventional neuroradiology, he has a strong history of improving patient outcomes with accurate and detailed interpretations of radiology data. His cool demeanour and understanding nature put his patients at ease. When interacting with patients, he uses plain language to make sure they are able to understand complicated procedures.
Dr. J. Vallinayaki
MD, DMRD
Dr. J. Vallinayaki MD, DMD is a professor of radiology and is also an experienced Senior Consultant for the department of Radiology at Dr.Vanchilingam Hospital.
Dr. Vallinayaki Vanchilingam MD, DMRD is retired professor and the Head of the department of Radiology at the Thanjavur Medical College and Hospital(TMCH) and the senior consultant and head at Dr.Vanchilingam Hospital. She is one of the most renowned practicing senior radiology specialists in the state, having graduated from the prestigious Barnard Institute of radiology with a gold medal in 1984.
Dr. Sophia Somesh
MBBS, DGO, DNB (O&G)
Dr. Sophia Somesh did her MBBS and DGO from RMMCH, Annamalai University. She did her DNB (OG) at the prestigious Southern Railways Headquarters Hospital, Perambur, Chennai. She works as Consultant Gynaecologist and is also the Executive Director of the Hospital overseeing the smooth running of the hospital and deals with the everyday challenges in running a super speciality hospital.
Women with neurological illness have a lot of issues as they go through menarchy, pregnancy, birth control, gynaecological diseases and menopause. A stand-alone gynaecological center may be overwhelmed by the comorbid Neurological condition. At Dr Vanchilingam Hospital they are handled by Dr Sophia Somesh with the full back-up of the Neuro Unit.
